From Becoming to Being: A Memoir and Manifesto for the End of Times My memoir, twenty years in the making, finally burped out in a moment of mania as the world we’ve been fighting for seemingly my entire life was being dismantled left and, well, mostly left as the 2nd Trump Administration took its chainsaw to all of the institutions and very fabric of a nation whose arc was generally and very gradually bending towards justice. Available at any Indy bookstore, or Bezo’s Amazon for $14.99 in paperback, or for free as a downloadable Kindle. Or above as a PDF for free.

Tip of the Spear: A Graphic History of U.S. Exceptionalism is a graphic anti-history of the United States: a series of brief historical vignettes examining the distance between the stories America tells about itself and the experiences of people who have lived at the receiving end of American power. Influenced by Eduardo Galeano’s Mirrors and Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States, the book moves from the Americas before European contact through conquest, colonization, slavery, expansion, empire, war, and the exercise of American power into the present. The words tell the history; the images provide much of the commentary, using juxtaposition, irony, and contradiction to make familiar stories look different depending upon where one stands—at the center of power or at the tip of its spear. Tip of the Spear is currently under production.

The Ones You Love a collection of writings by my beloved and brilliant third mother Harriet Ellenburger. Co-founder and co-editor of Sinister Wisdom, the multicultural lesbian literary and art journal founded in 1976. Harriet’s writing, including her poetry, is powerful, penetrating, poignant. Enjoy.
