ADDED ON MAY 8, 2024: The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a funding opportunity to incentivize and accelerate the upgrading or retirement of the nation’s legacy diesel engine fleet. Eligible activities include the retrofit or replacement of existing diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment with the EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) certified engine configurations and verified retrofit and idle reduction technologies. This opportunity is exclusively for Tribal Nations and territories of the United States. $9,000,000 is being made available under this funding opportunity with maximum awards of $800,000. ADDED ON NOVEMBER 22, 2023: The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a funding opportunity to fund community-driven projects that address climate challenges and reduce pollution while strengthening communities through thoughtful implementation. This historic level of support will enable communities and their partners to overcome longstanding environmental challenges and implement meaningful solutions to meet community needs now and for generations to come. $2 billion is being made available under this opportunity with maximum awards of $20,000,000.
